Learn more about the Shih Tzu.
Ozzie comes into rescue after two events in his owner's lives: death of his caregiver 5 months ago and then her mother had to go into an assisted living with a 'no dogs allowed' rule. He is 10 years old and still has lots of energy and many good manners. Not any "accidents" with house-training and he also loves his crate. But he prefers to sleep on the recliner or at his foster's feet. He loves to go for walks and doesn't get crazy when meeting other dogs or having dogs bark at him. He loves the freedom of a fenced in yard (his first) and runs and explores, then settles down in the shade for a snooze. He does well with his foster sister, another Tzu, but barks when he notices the cat around. He is 18 1/2 lbs and working on trimming down a bit. Will have eye drops daily from now on, but he enjoys a warm washcloth on his eyes before the drops. Oh, and he loves to go for car rides and he curls up for a little snooze till he gets there.Comes with crate, bed, blankets, and a basket of toys. P.S.: he shares well and is not nippy at food time. He is an all around good boy looking for someone new to love. Ozzies's adoption fee, including MN state taxes, is $214.55. He is available to adopt within a 50 mile radius of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/Saint Paul. To submit an adoption application, please click here to complete our online application.
