The first thing you notice about Penelope is her lush, full lips and her deep brown eyes. Her expressive face is interested and fascinated whether she is meeting a new person or checking out birds in the yard. Her beautiful markings will continue to improve as her true chocolate coat with white accents grows out a bit. And, she just learned that every woman feels better after a relaxing oatmeal bath! She is blessed with a compact build so this darling Shih Tzu is doing well with her current diet to help her lose those few extra pounds (currently weighs 16, soon to be 12?). Penny loves her kennel – not only for sleeping but also as the perfect container for stashing all of the doggie toys. With 2 other dogs in the house, she knows how to charm her way past their watchful eyes being careful to finally place each toy in her selected spot. Sure, she will share without complaint but her decorating style is cozy casual. If there is room for one more toy, why not try to squeeze it in? She also looks to the other dogs as examples on how to behave in a family setting and they have provided her with many good tips. She will do best in a home with another dog. While the early years for Penny were not the best, she is a happy girl willing to learn and eager to please. She does well with other dogs, older children, and adults. At 6 years old, she is entering the prime of life and looking to be a loyal friend and a loving companion to you.
