Hi, I'm Teddy!

Teddy is a sweet little guy that was found wandering around a farm in North Dakota. He loves to be snuggled by his humans, and anxiously waits for his humans to wake up in the morning so he can give them good morning kisses. Currently he sleeps in the middle of the bed near his foster parents pillows. Once he settles down for the night, he stays in that position the whole night. He is a calm overall, he likes to play with rope toys and chew on antlers. He loves humans so much, he sometimes is a little too eager for attention, he is so cute that his foster parents don’t mind too much.

Teddy has had to overcome a lot, after being rescued from the farm in North Dakota, the finder figured out that Teddy is almost completely blind. Teddy does not let his vision problems slow him down. In a new environment, he spends a lot of time sniffing around the new room to figure out the layout of the room. He is independent, and will search out humans when they call his name. Even though he does not see well, he has now learned how to go up and down stairs!

Teddy loves to go on walks, and boldly leads the way and navigates curbs, hills, and other obstacles like a pro. Even though he is independent, his foster parent needs to make sure he does not accidentally run in obstacles in his way, but he seems to do well of avoiding them.

Teddy would do well with a family that will be patient with him as he learns to navigate new environments. He also needs a family that will not baby him and carry him around places. Teddy has some special needs, but as much as possible should be treated like a regular dog. He loves to figure things out by himself.  If his new home has a fenced yard, he needs to be supervised so that he does not escape or encounter hazards in the yard. Teddy would love a companion dog friend that is respectful, patient with his needs, and could guide him or watch out for him. Teddy is a friendly little pup, but he needs a family with children that are respectful and will be aware of not stepping on him accidentally.
